Simulation gives
infinite possibilities
with finite elements
Safety and reliability are the basic requirements for many products and components you design. It is important to ensure that it is structurally capable of handling certain stresses. Your product/part must perform as it should in various situations.
But these days it’s about more than just safety or compliance with set requirements. Also, materials should be used only where needed so there is no waste of valuable resources. In the process, sustainability is also crucial. Making sure you are and remain innovative in every area will keep you well ahead of the competition.
For all these reasons, you must ensure that your structures are designed to be strong and sturdy.
MSC Apex Structures is an extension to MSC Apex Modeler, with additional features for linear structural analysis. With a very user-friendly interface and integrated Nastran solver, you get an easy workflow from design to analysis result.
You can thus save hours of time on validation of models, meshes, properties and boundary conditions. This quickly prepares your FEM model for advanced FEA.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is still the most essential method of simulation for many companies and still the standard in many industries. One of the standard software combinations historically and still used today for simulations are Patran and MSC Nastran.
Solid modeling, meshing, analysis set-up and post-processing are all readily available. Given its legacy, Patran now contains more than enough features that quickly streamline the process into ready-to-use models. Linear or nonlinear -, implicit or explicit -, structural or thermal challenges can be addressed through a similar workflow.
Also, Patran is a universal postprocessor for most industrial FEA solvers.
The possibilities are virtually endless!
We like to keep it as objective as possible, but when it comes to the “good-old” structural, multidisciplinary FEA, there is simply nothing as reliable as MSC Nastran.
Whether you need static, dynamic, thermal, linear or nonlinear, structural optimization, fatigue analysis, the software has been used for decades and has now been validated by most major industrial R&D departments.
You can calculate your design for strength and stiffness and also map fatigue. Correct calculation of stresses, resonance, buckling, deformations, … are therefore crucial.
Optimize existing designs, reduce downtime and repair, or create new prototypes. All with high-quality computing power.
Non-linear behavior in terms of geometry, material, boundary conditions, contacts, etc., Marc is at all times a reliable and numerically stable computational tool.
Multi-physics capabilities allow you to link thermal, electrical, magnetic and structural analyses. Marc is one of the few software tools that can do all this. This makes it the solution for companies looking to virtually test their products quickly, accurately and cost-effectively.
Dytran is used to make products safer while reducing warranty costs. Dytran helps you simulate and analyze what happens to a product or part in explicit transient dynamics.
In other words, when you are dealing with very many events or variations in a short time frame such as crashes or impacts. Includes fluid-structure interactions.
By analyzing how materials and fluids interact during these events, you can better test safety and reliability. With the unique coupling function integrated within Dytran, you easily put these physics in sequence in one continuous simulation.
Use CAEfatigue to quickly and robustly address random response and vibration.
CAEFatigue helps predict how long a product can withstand repeated vibrations before it breaks.
CAEFatigue can handle many different types of vibrations and can predict how much damage a product will suffer over time as a result of these vibrations.
You can do this in two ways: by looking at how often the vibrations occur (in the frequency domain), or by looking at the amount of time between each vibration (in the time domain).
Whatever you need, it’s quick and easy to use. So start comprehensive fatigue simulations today to ensure quality and durable products.
