When you start applying Business Intelligence in your organization, there are a number of steps that must be taken before you actually have a dashboard that you can control. The data and analytics process, as we call it, is important here to execute properly.
Every relevant source (think of; AFAS, Exact, Dynamics, Navision, Numbers, Twinfield, Visma, EPD, SAP) will be unlocked, so we can be sure that the right data is used. All this data is stored in a data warehouse. This data will then be cleaned up, according to business logic, so that data is ready for reporting. Data is loaded into a data model, where appropriate relationships are established between tables and where all measurements are made centrally. So that there is one truth and there can be no misunderstandings about definitions of the KPIs.
When this is completely correct in the data model, visualization can begin in reports and dashboards. From HR, marketing, finance to sales, all data must be clearly displayed.
